Ricardo directs the Studio Choir in Boulder. |
Ricardo formed the Boulder Studio Choir in the fall of 2000 to give amatuer singers a chance to learn how professional groups and backup singers arrange and perform harmonies and leads. Through his teaching of the basics of vocal harmony arrangements, music theory, microphone technique and blending, the choir has developed quite a repertoire. Ricardo is now accepting students for an exciting and unique new class, the Live Band Workshop. It will focus on the skills needed to play in a professional band. Participants will get feedback on performances, practice playing/singing with others, learn to read and write charts, learn how to use a PA system, learn about instrument voicings, vocal harmonies, soloing, comping and more. Anyone who plays an instrument or sings is welcome to join! Email to join or for more info. |

Ricardo plays and teaches almost any style of music from Afro-Cuban (salsa), Latin, R & B, and blues to rock 'n roll and funk, from country, pop, folk and easy listening to classical and jazz. Most new listeners are surprised to hear his versatility with different musical styles, and are especially impressed by the authenticity with which he performs them. Ricardo is available for private lessons or classes. |
